Good luck, Ray. Given the darkness of my predilections SWEENEY TODD is my favorite musical. It was the last show I saw on Broadway before heading Midwestward in 1979 and about a month after the show opened. It still had Len Cariou and Angela Lansbury and just blew me away.

Looking forward to our upcoming project for the StarShip.

I spent the first 10 minutes of the podcast, before the introductions going “Where do I know this guy from?” And then I realized it was from Exhalation. Great work, and I’d love to have you do a story for us in the near future.

As far as I can make out, Western Australia is very much warmer and dryer (read: near-desert) than Ohio, so you seldom have to contend with rain, snow, or bitter cold. These are facts of life in Ohio, which is why we prefer to spend much of our leisure time indoors.

Plus, while your ban may have been “fully implemented”, ours has been a miserable, poorly-worded, unevenly-enforced train wreck from Day One.

Where I live in Western Australia we’ve had a total ban on smoking in all public enclosed spaces for years. It was considered to be a pretty tough law at the time but was fully implemented. From what I can tell it has been completely successful. We’re very used to it now and it would seem strange to see someone smoke inside a building, even a bar.
